Nighttime Snowshoe Outing - January 17, 2008

Contributed by Mark Graf

We really are a Running Club that does more than just run.

Seven of us extended the "Nighttime Headlamp Running" concept to a new dimension this evening by going for a moonlight snowshoe outing that included a little running, and a whole lot of adventure.

We started out across a frozen lake, then cut into the woods and hills without a specific itinerary.  We followed deer, rabbit and coyote tracks, cart trails, and others' snowshoe tracks, all under the reassuring glow of our headlamps.  We wound our way randomly up steep inclines and along the bases of forbidding outcrops until we felt it was time to return to warm quarters for food and libations.

Additional similar adventures are already being formulated.  Join us?
